TripAdvisor’s 2012 Certificate of Excellence Awarded to Grand Hotel Salem for the 2nd Year in a Row

We are pleased to announce the Grand Hotel in Salem has been awarded TripAdvisor’s 2012 Certificate of Excellence, an award that honors hospitality excellence, for the 2nd time. We were also recognized with the Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor in 2011.

The Certificate of Excellence is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. To qualify, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

Approximately 10 percent of accommodations listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award, and we are proud to be one of them. We also want to congratulate our sister hotel, The Grand Hotel in Bridgeport, for also receiving the 2012 Certificate of Excellence!

Vip’s Industries Inc. Honored at The Salem Area Chamber 2011 Business of the Year Awards

Vip’s Industries Inc., parent company of The Grand Hotel Salem, Bentley’s Grill, The Salem Conference Center and The Grand Hotel at Bridgeport, is presented with The 2011 Regional/National Business of the Year Award!

The Salem Area Chamber honored six businesses this week at the 2011 Business of the Year Awards, presented by Umpqua Bank. More than 300 attendees were on hand at annual luncheon, held at The Salem Conference Center.

We are happy to announce The 2011 Regional/National Business of the Year Award was presented to Vip’s Industries Inc., the corporate company that owns and operates The Grand Hotel Salem, Bentley’s Grill and The Grand Hotel at Bridgeport. Vip’s Industries Inc. is also contracted by The City of Salem to operate The Salem Conference Center. We were recognized for our sustainable business practices, as well as the service quality.

The Grand Hotel at Bridgeport Featured in Washington Country Travel Video!

For those of you who have not yet seen our sister hotel, the gorgeous Grand Hotel at Bridgeport in Tigard Oregon , just outside of Portland, OR, we encourage you to plan a trip in that direction soon!   The hotel has been open for less than a year and has already starred in the brand new Washington County, Oregon Visitor Association promotional video that integrates interactive technology in the video itself.  Check it out!

Successful First Month at The Grand Hotel Bridgeport!

Members of the Phoenix Grand Hotel staff attended The Grand Hotel Bridgeport “Grand Opening Celebration” earlier this month that included delicious appetizers prepared by Bentley’s Grill, sushi, a hotel tour and a ribbon cutting ceremony.  If you are planning to visit the Portland area in the future- we encourage you to stop by and see this beautiful hotel for yourself while taking in a day of tax free shopping at the Bridgeport Village shopping district.

General Manager Josh Sanders and his amazing staff have done a fine job putting the finishing touches on the new hotel, rolling out the red carpet and welcoming guests from all over the area visiting the Portland area.  One guest was so impressed she left the following comments on The Grand Hotel Bridgeport’s blog:

My husband & I returned home last evening from a wonderful two night stay at your new hotel. We were with our daughters, who stayed five nights. Your hotel is not only beautiful, it is cozy and clean. We found the staff to be incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. When I say “staff”, that applies to all we had contact with from desk, managers, housekeepers etc. The location is great too!
